On average, The American Red Cross Gold Country Region responds to home fires every eight hours using a fleet of vehicles that also transport volunteers across the country to provide support when national disasters strike.
Recently, the Gold Country Region's very own emergency response vehicle, Edna, traveled to Florida for hurricane relief efforts, a round trip of over 6,000 miles! This was just one of twelve national disasters Edna responded to in the past.
These vehicles are indispensable to providing aid where needed at a moment's notice.
On #GivingTuesday, November 28, help the American Red Cross Gold Country Region raise money to add more vehicles to its emergency response fleet!
$36,000 pays for a GMC Sierra 1500, crucial to pulling shelter trailers, transporting water, food, and supplies.
$52,000 buys a GMC Yukon, also used to pull shelter trailers, transport water, food, and supplies, and transport additional staff.
$150,000 raised would be enough to build an emergency response vehicle, which can quickly transform so that volunteers can either distribute emergency supplies such as shovels, rakes, clean up kits, or provide mobile feeding opportunities and canteening operations in support of Search and Rescue operations.
With additional vehicles, more life-saving food, water, and supplies will be distributed to those in need.
Help reach even more families and children in the Gold Country Region and throughout the country by donating to #FundAFleet on #GivingTuesday!
Your contribution, no matter how small or large, will make a difference!
