Our group is fundraising to support the WE Villages Water Pillar in Ecuador. While traveling in Ecuador on a ME to WE trip, I realized how different it is to be aware of an issue and to see the phenomenon itself. There are many opportunities growing up in Canada, and seeing how others struggle just to have a glass water, not even clean water but contaminated from the river, was incredibly eye-opening. This had a great impact on me and encouraged me to make an action plan when I returned home. I was welcomed to their community of Hatun Urka and became attached to the individuals that I met there, which is why I’m specifically donating to Ecuador. However, this project will not be my only project I will be working on. This is only the beginning and I hope to get as much done as possible and provide as aid possible to help communities in need.
On March 22nd (World Water Day), we will be hosting a dress-down day with the English Montreal School Board where students will donate to participate in the dress-down day and will support the Ecuador/Water project. However, anyone can donate on this page and support our cause.
