I'm asking for your help in raising money for UNICEF and the Rohingya refugee crisis. The situation is so heartbreaking & I know we all wish there is something we can do. I am hoping that together we can raise a reasonable donation of $1,000.00 in 24 hours to be matched by "The George Harrison Fund" for UNICEF. Matching ends at midnight on Thursday, October 26th, so lets see how much we can raise in 24 hours to help.
I’m sure you’re aware of the crisis and the need for aid, the excerpt below from the UNICEF website helps explain their role in humanitarian aid.
"Thousands of Rohingya refugees continue to arrive daily in the Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh. The vast majority are women, including mothers with newborn babies, and children. And they are joining an existing refugee population, some of whom have been in the camps for years, others displaced by recent flooding. As of late September, Bangladesh was sheltering 800,000 forcibly displaced Rohingya. UNICEF is trucking in crucial supplies; rapid response teams are providing medical care including vaccinations and other emergency services. There are shortages of clean water and food, and many children are severely malnourished. Urgent action is needed. Donate to help UNICEF reach the children who desperately need help now. Donate today. 90% of every dollar spent goes directly to assist children."
