Cancer has had a very large and personal impact on my life, and is my motivation for running the Detroit Free Press Half-Marathon. Eight years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her battle and beat cancer was undoubtedly one of the most difficult and trying times for our family. However, her strength and fight have made her my forever hero. <3
Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit ensures that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. This organization creates welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer – men, women, teens and children – along with their families and friends. I hope that by fundraising for this organization, that more individuals diagnosed with cancer, and their families and friends can find support and comfort during the difficult times that this disease brings.
Any types of donations and gifts would be greatly appreciated and make a huge difference at Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit!
