What’s the problem? As discoveries and careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) are creating more opportunities and shaping our world in an increasingly tech-focused marketplace, more and more girls are left behind. Women are underrepresented among STEM graduates, and there’s a global gender gap of 47%. In Africa and particularly Nigeria, the gender gap is even wider!
Why are there few Nigerian girls in STEM?

Our Solution- Girls Go!
We have an .
Girls Go! is taking female role models, inspiration, technology and health education to teenage schoolgirls in underserved communities.
What we do:
>Career sessions where students engage with accomplished female STEM professionals who share insights and experiences along their career paths
>Health talks and demonstrations (making use of videos and interactive media) on menstrual hygiene management, adolescent and sexual health
>Creative and fun activities to spark interest in STEM, and teach leadership
>Continued mentoring and engagement with schoolgirls via an online community to deliver youth-friendly mobile interactions on leadership development, scholarship opportunities and STEM
>Annual STEM tour to a University and a leading company that utilizes STEM in practice, to open up the astonishing range and breadth of careers possible with STEM
At Girls Go!, we believe every girl is a champion. We believe every girl can go! And we believe learning leadership, taking control of their bodies and health, and engaging with successful women like them, can change the way girls see themselves and can influence their future choices.
How you can help
Help us impact the futures of these schoolgirls.
, you’d be inspiring a young girl:
> to stay in school and go! pursue a STEM career
> to build self-esteem so she can be confident in achieving academic excellence and leadership
Together, we can ensure that more African girls and women are empowered by the socioeconomic benefits derived from acquiring expertise in STEM related fields.
Your donations will go towards, so we can get girls to experience STEM differently- in a fun, hands-on and gender responsive way.
