The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
GLHS and other student teams from area schools will be working to save babies together by going door-to-door in our hometowns, accepting donations in exchange for a loaf of bread (provided by Aunt Millie’s and the March of Dimes) on Saturday, Nov. 18th.
Students gain a sense of accomplishment for a good cause, one to which they can relate. They learn what it means to have a healthy pregnancy and a full-term child. Every week in Michigan 295 babies are born before they are ready; many so small they could fit in the palm of your hand. Each year in Michigan, 1,056 infants die before reaching their first birthday. We believe this must change.
Join us and help the March of Dimes give every baby a healthy start.
