Nature is a powerful healer. We all know that, intuitively or through experience and learning. My son, Peter, is 20 years old and was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old. His life has not been easy....every day he struggles navigating a world that is often chaotic and intrusive to him. We have found that nature has indeed been a healer for him. By providing him "clean" and healthy food, as well as many other therapies, his experience in life is better. He is stronger, clearer, and more able to stave off illnesses. I am very passionate about health and wellness, and especially using food as medicine. This is why I am dedicating my race in the Ironman Maryland on October 7 to help Linwood Center -- a wonderful school that has helped Peter thrive as a boy and now as he moves into adulthood. I am raising funds for a greenhouse that will give the students and adults opportunities to grow and eat their own food. Not only will it provide some healing to their minds, bodies, and spirits, it will offer employment training and opportunities to the older students and adults.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause! I will be swimming, cycling, and running very long distances on October 7, 2017, in honor of Linwood Going Green and of my son and all his friends who so need us to support them. Please consider joining me with support of a donation.... there is not amount too small.
