They say, "a little bit of Vegas goes a long way" and we're hoping that's true!
This November 10th-11th, The Hamels Foundation team hits the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada for another Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series (5K, 1/2 Marathon, and Full Marathon) and we want you to get involved! Don't worry...we'll do the running, we just need your support. Not only are we preparing to show Las Vegas what we're about, we're raising funds to spread awareness for our mission even further. Will you help us reach the finish line?
The Hamels Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded by Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi. The Hamels Foundation's mission is to enrich the lives of children through the power of education by providing support for quality education in the United States, as well as Malawi, Africa. Malawi is one of the poorest, most impoverished nations in the world, where over one million children are orphaned due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The first step towards breaking the cycle of AIDS is education, as well as tending to basic needs such as shelter and food. The Hamels Foundation is working to build a primary school (grades 1-8) to educate boys and girls in the Mulanje District of Malawi, in addition to providing for US schools through a community-based approach to education. With your help, The Hamels Foundation has awarded more than $4.1 million to support education for children around the world since 2009...and we're just getting started. Leave a legacy with us!
