Heaven on Earth transforms the lives of homeless cats, through rescue, sanctuary, and new beginnings.
We operate the Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary - a no-kill, 5,500 square foot facility located in North Hollywood. Our rescues come to us from local Los Angeles city shelters (we will rescue 800 this year who have run out of options). The cats who are with us temporarily awaiting adoption, as well as long-term residents, receive quality care and lots of love from our clinical staff at our North Hollywood sanctuary, known affectionately as Perry’s Place. Our cage-free rooms reduce stress in addition to providing an ideal environment for adoption. More than 1,100 cats will be cared for at Perry's Place during 2018.
Mobile adoption events are held each weekend at five area pet stores, and Perry’s Place is open to potential adopters Thursday-Sunday afternoons. Our trained adoption staff and dedicated volunteers screen all potential adopters to facilitate ideal matches.
The goal of our SpayShip program is to reduce the number of unwanted animals turned into city shelters. Working in conjunction with FixNation, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, SpayShip provides free transportation and trapping assistance for community and companion cats in the San Fernando Valley. We will facilitate more than 1,000 spays and neuters this year.
We have been awarded a 3-year contract by Los Angeles Animal Services to operate the Heaven on Earth Clinic at the West Valley city shelter. W expect to open early this summer, focusing on high-volume spay/neuter, as well as comprehensive veterinary services.
