"I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back." ―Malala Yousafzai
I got involved with 9to5 back in 2007 when I was an idealistic, ambitious graduate student seeking to change the world. I wanted to fight for women’s equality and end racism. I wanted to create systemic, long-lasting change. Now 10 years and 2 kids later, 9to5 still instills hope in me that change is possible. In fact, I know the only way we will create change is if we lift up our voices and demand it.
Being part of 9to5 has helped me find my voice and the confidence needed the use it. My story, my kids, and my life matter. My voice is worth being heard. I will not sit idly by while those in power make decisions that have critical impacts on my life. I will fight for what is right. I do this every day with 9to5 and work to instill that fire in others.
Please help me reach my goal of raising $500 for 9to5 this week. This is part of the bigger goal of raising $30,000 to support 9to5 win justice for working women in our state and nationally. It’s an investment in my daughters’ futures, our families, and our lives.
Please support this amazing organization that has changed my life.
