As a Board member of the Museum of Boulder I am excited to announce that we have raised 70% ($7.5M) of the funds needed to open the new museum at 2205 Broadway in 2018! We have a great new location and are in the final phase of construction and fundraising and need your help getting across the line. All funds donated will be matched by the City of Boulder as part of the 2A Initiative.
As parents to young children, I am most excited about the Children’s Discovery Zone within the Museum space – which, when completed, will be the only Children’s Museum in Boulder for families with kids. We understand the importance of children’s museums in helping children develop essential skills, discovery and lifelong learning, provide environments where families connect in meaningful ways, strengthen community resources that educate and care for children, and contribute to our local economy and reduce economic barriers.
About the Museum:
The Museum’s plan is to convey Boulder’s past, present, and future including historic stories, surprising discoveries, and innovative ideas that have shaped our community, and, in some cases, have shaped the world beyond Boulder.
The Museum of Boulder has been a Boulder institution since 1944. The Museum promotes a deeper understanding of our collective heritage and fosters dialogue, curiosity and self-reflection. They help future generations comprehend their history and recognize the achievements of those who came before them.
The Museum of Boulder is in the Community Phase of the Capital Campaign to raise the final $3.8 million of an $11.3 million campaign. Pledges can be paid over a three-year time period. All gifts, large and small, will make a difference. Up until December 31, 2017, donations will be matched by the City of Boulder 2A Initiative – doubling your contribution!
Please join me as part of the history in the making of the new Museum of Boulder!
