My name is Hunter. I’m 11 years old and I’m training for my first marathon. I ran my first half marathon with my mom when I was 10. I’m excited to run my first marathon, the Twin Cities Marathon, on October 7, 2018. And I want to make this extra special by running in honor of my 10 year old brother, Logan.
When my brother was 5 years old, he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is excess cerebral spinal fluid building up in the ventricles of the brain. There is no cure for it. The only treatment is brain surgery. Without brain surgery, my brother could suffer brain damage or worse. Logan has had to endure 4 brain surgeries already. He’s a fighter and is really strong. He may be younger than me but he is someone I really look up to. We need to find a cure for hydrocephalus. Not only does my brother have it but over a million Americans have it, too. Help me find a cure or find better treatment options.
