With your support, May Institute employees can help make a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
This year, we are supporting Independence House, an organization on Cape Cod that has provided free resources, advocacy, and counseling services to address and prevent domestic and sexual violence for the past 38 years. One of their newest initiatives is an emergency domestic and sexual violence residence. It is a 24/7, 365-day program to meet the safety and well-being needs of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The goal of this May Institute employee initiative is to raise $1,000, which will be used to furnish a space where children receiving services at this emergency residence can relax, study, and play. Independence House will use the funds collected to purchase a computer desk, table and chairs, book cart, and rug for this space. Any funds raised above $1,000 will be used to purchase books to stock the library cart.

The 2018 Helping Hands, Open Arms campaign benefiting Independence House is an employee-led and funded initiative of the May’s Diversity and Inclusion Council and May employees. All funds raised by employees and the greater May community will be used solely for the project to furnish a space as described above.
