As a recent cancer survivor, the Cancer League of Colorado is a non-profit I am proud to support. The Race For Research is also an opportunity for me to get back into my "fighting" shape after a year-long journey with cancer.
The Race For Research is one of the four main fundraising events for Cancer League of Colorado.
They are a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff and no offices. Approximately 85% of the money raised is directed to early stage cancer research in Colorado. This support provides researchers seed money for projects that have the potential to generate additional research funds from other organizations, such as the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Cancer League grants are awarded based on recommendations from the Scientific Advisory Board, a group of volunteer Colorado medical specialists who represent a variety of cancer research and treatment disciplines.
