Students at Hope Hall have been marginalized by the traditional education system due to specific learning challenges including ADD, ADHD, or some form of Autism. The majority of Hope Hall students also have a Central Auditory Processing Disorder, which is a neurological disorder that seriously impacts the rate of learning but does not qualify them for any services other than speech in public schools. Funds raised through our Help Hope Thrive Campaign will directly impact Hope Hall’s holistic approach to learning, which nurtures the mind, spirit, and body of each learner. Funds raised will support activities, materials, and programs for the 2018-2019 school year, including:
$10- to buy a dress code polo shirt for a child in need
$25- to provide the necessary school supplies for one child
$50- to help fund our art education program for one day
$100- to purchase supplies needed for our woodworking program for one day
$300- to fund our 6 week summer program for one child
$500- to cover graduation costs for one senior, including cap and gown, diploma, and reception
$1,500- Fund the full tuition of a primary school student for three months
Statistically speaking, the odds are against our students:
Here in Rochester, NY we have the #1 childhood poverty rate in the nation for a city of our size and the 5th highest poverty rate overall!
At Hope Hall, 85% of our students live at or below the federal poverty level and the majority are the “working poor” who receive little or no help from social services.
The Rochester City School District’s graduation rate is approximately 40% below the New York State average.
Hope Hall receives no funding from school districts, NY State, or Federal Government. The actual cost to educate a Hope Hall student is $17,000 per year. Tuition rates only cover approximately one third of this cost.
Annually we need to raise 2.7 million dollars in operational funding
Here at Hope Hall, we believe the best way to help break the cycle of poverty is by providing an education that prepares students for careers and college, and that teaches strong values such as respect, empathy, and collaboration.
Hope Hall is confident that, given enough time and the right environment, every student can learn and thrive. We have seen proof of this time and time again. Hope Hall has a 100% graduation rate!
The success stories of our students reinforces that our unique approach to learning makes a difference for our students, today and into the future. For more information, visit our website at: http://hopehall.org/successstories/
