On September 8th, Hurricane Irma made landfall in Cuba as a category 5 storm, the largest storm to hit Cuba over the last 85 years. Join us to help the Cuban people rebuild their communities; we’ll mobilize a network committed to engagement, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
Helping the Cuban people begins with us. CubaOne is partnering with Give2Cuba to send mission teams to the island! We’ll spend five days in Cuba helping out the communities most in need of cleanup and rebuilding. We’ll visit the cities most affected by Hurricane Irma across 3 provinces (Ciego de Avila, Sancti Spiritus and Santa Clara). Together, we can build a brighter future.
Participants will be working alongside the Cuban people helping with the most pressing relief efforts. We’ll work with local organizations and leaders to create the greatest impact.
Your donation will send a mission team member to Cuba where they will work alongside their peers to help the Cubans #resolvemos.
Here are all the details:
- October 25-30
- We’ll stay in casa particulares; we’ll be directly supporting the Cuban people and have an opportunity to get to know and help our Cuban hosts.
- Each traveler has agreed to fund their trip and donations to Hurricane Irma relief by fundraising $1,500 through Crowdrise--and they need your help! This will provide a significant donation to charity relief efforts and cover the costs of roundtrip airfare to Cuba, People-to-People visa, mandatory health insurance, one checked bag of hurricane relief supplies, and accommodation in a casa particular.
- In addition to helping once we’re on the ground, we’ll be bringing supplies. We ask that each participant bring a checked bag with supplies to distribute during the trip. Here’s a list of the critical items the Cuban people need most:
