It is a fact that Hundreds of African refugees are now being bought and sold in “slave markets” across Libya weekly, a with many of them held for ransom or forced into prostitution and sexual exploitation to pay their captors and smugglers. More than 50% of the victims are women, children and teenagers. A huge amount of them end up being murdered by their smugglers in the open desert or die from thirst or car accidents in the vast Libyan desert. Investigations have revealed that perpetrators of this inhumane acts are not just some organized mafia syndicates in libya but also some criminal minded syndicates in the home countries of the source of these crimes. My Intention is to produce a highly intense film documentary on this inhuman act and use it to enlighten and sensitize prospective victims right from the source(in Nigeria my country) where these crimes are carried out majorly. Many who fall victim of trafficking want to escape poverty, improve their lives, and support their families. Often they get an offer of a well-paid job abroad or in another region. Often they borrow money from their traffickers or sell their belongings in advance to pay for arranging the job, travel and accommodation. This becomes a very dark journey or death for many. I strongly believe that carrying out the enlightenment campaign with the documentary material can go a long way in deterring 'to-be victims as well as exposing the evil acts of the criminal cartels carrying out these evil act. I can't do this alone so i appeal to all those who believe in humanity and right to freedom to join and support in achieving this goal. May God bless you.
