Several CAIS member schools and public schools in Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra and the Virgin Islands, affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, were devastated, others deeply affected but able to function in a modified manner. From buildings that no longer exist, to meeting the most basic needs like drinking water, materials are needed to ensure student success and normalization in the face of this still unfolding crisis.
James Nelligan, Headmaster of the Baldwin School of Puerto Rico and President of the Caribbean Association of Independent Schools, will serve as custodian of this fundraising effort. 100% of funds will be used for direct relief efforts to both public and private schools. An expedited grant process will ensure swift relief to schools in need. As a 501(c)3, all donations are fully tax deductible as applicable by law.
