In honor of our patriarch, Roderick (Rod) J. Lynch, and in lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to the Macular Degeneration Research Program, a disease from which Rod suffered in his later years.
We sincerely thank you in advance for your support.
With much love,
The Lynch Family
A brief overview about the disease follows:
Macular Degeneration leads to loss of the sharp, fine-detail, “straight-ahead” vision required for reading, driving, recognizing faces, and seeing the world in color. It is the leading cause of vision loss and irreversible blindness in Americans age 60 years and older, as well as irreversible blindness and visual impairment in the world. As many as 11 million Americans have some form of macular degeneration, including both early and later stages of the wet and dry forms. This number is expected to double by 2050.
