A few years ago, my son, a tattoo artist, got attached to one of my breast cancer patients. When she passed mid September of that year, my son decided to do a fundraiser which we called INK for a cure, where he donated a percentage of his profits to the Cancer Clinic I worked for at the time, and did a free "survivor" breast cancer ribbon tattoo to any breast cancer survivor. We wanted to get other shops in the area involved, but there was not enough time to organize it. I would like to do this once again this year, but with the other tattoo shops in town getting involved as well and donate the money to the American Cancer Society. This campaign will help not only raise awareness and money for the cause, but it will also show that tattoo shops will get involved with community matters and are no longer a place for sailors, bikers and hookers. I believe this will be a huge success and benefit all.
