Dear friends, family (and associates who may not know me from a bar of soap),
This year I turn 33 (eek!) and as many of you know, I'm not as moved by things as I am by actions. Little gestures to let me know I'm loved and thought of on my birthday are what matter to me.
You are all spread across the world (Australia, North America, UK, Africa and more) and I know we can't all get together. I'm sure if we did, you might buy me a celebratory birthday drink and we'd cheers and hug and dance the night away. But in reality, if you all bought me a drink, well I'd be on the floor for a year.
Sooooo.... here's a better idea ;)
If you would like to do something thoughtful for me this year, go ahead and buy a woman, man or child in Africa a drink on my behalf. No fancy cocktail... A drink of CLEAN WATER!! It will not only make me smile now during my birthday month, but I will then have the added joy of going to Africa again later this year when we will be doing new water projects, and I'll get to see the faces of the people who's lives you've changed as they sip that clean glass of water you donated. Now that will make me cry happy tears!
If you choose not to donate, of course I still love you.
Sending love to all of you and if you want to watch an inspirational video that we cut together recently in LA, please check out https://youtu.be/22y0fVt-lAE and visit www.water-underground.org if you want to subscribe to our mailing list for our newsletter updates.
