“Knowledge sets us free, art sets us free. A great library is freedom.”- Ursula K. Leguin
This year I will be participating in my first ever Pittsburgh Marathon, and I am bringing together my passions of running and reading to support the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
Many times I have found myself stopping in to the local branch mid-run to pick up a book, but so far my donations to the library have been in the form of overdue book fees! It is an honor to be part of their team, because I believe so fully in what they provide for this community.
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is an invaluable resource to so many people, whether it be providing free internet and computers, children’s and teen’s reading programs, or just to have access to an incredible selection of books. Your support gives purpose to the madness of running the longest race of my life— while supporting a cause that is close to my heart.
The freedom to continue to expand your horizons and reach new goals is a gift, and the driving force behind why I run and why I read. I hope that you will consider contributing to my goal!
