We are so excited to welcome Baby #2--a boy!--to our family at the end of August. Our son will be born with clubfoot, a physical deformity in which his feet are turned inward. It's quite common and generally 100% treatable via non-surgical methods, including casting and wearing a brace with special shoes.
We are partnering with miraclefeet, a non-profit orgnization which increases access to proper treatment for children born with clubfoot in developing countries, where the condition often goes untreated--leading to inability to walk, chronic pain and little opportunity to live a decent life.
$250 raises enough money to treat a child with clubfoot in a developing county, and with the pending birth of our little guy, we hope to raise awareness and support for this great organization!
P.S. There's even a Stanford connection: two students have designed a new, easy-to-use brace that will cost less than $20 to produce. The product is in its first distribution right now! Check out this video for more info.
