As many of you know, on December 2nd, 2012, during a complex attack, I was injured by a VBIED (Car Bomb) in Afghanistan. As we near the 5th anniversary of my “Alive Day” Ali and I wanted to join together with our family and friends to celebrate by raising money for a foundation that is near and dear to our hearts. Our continued support from our family and friends, along with the USSOCOM community has helped us get through some of our darkest days and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by saying “Thank You” to the Task Force Dagger Foundation. Task Force Dagger Foundation, whose mission is to provide assistance to wounded, ill, or injured US Special Operations Command members and their families, has personally helped us as well as so many other families.
Most everyone knows how I was wounded but what many of you didn’t see were the struggles we had both physically and emotionally over the past five years. I have continually struggled with physical challenges which takes an emotional toll on on me, while Ali has struggled with anxiety so bad it nearly crippled our family. We attended one of Task Force Daggers annual recreational therapy events, where with the support of everyone, we made greater strides in our recovery over the period of one week than the entire 5 years since I was wounded. We still have a long way to go but I’m proud to say we are stronger and doing better every day thanks to amazing people like those at TFD.
We ask you all to consider making a donation to a wonderful organization to help us celebrate a milestone after what was a tragic day in our lives. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would have a great impact on healing the wounded members of the US Special Operations Command. Even if you’re unable to make a donation we ask that you share with others about the great works of the Task Force Dagger Foundation. We are truly grateful for the continued love and support you’ve shown us over the last five years. We can never thank you all enough.
