My family lost my cousin, Jessie, to horrific circumstances in June of 2017. While we share a first name, My cousin was the kind Jessie where I was always the serious Jessie. She always had a smile for the people around her and her compassion for people and animals would shine through in all she did. I’m establishing this group to raise money for a charity that brings together two things dear to Jessie in a way to honor her and provide a remembrance for the kindness she shared. K9s for Warriors trains service dogs for veterans of the military with PTSD, TBI, or MST. Jessie’s family, including myself, is rooted in military service, with multiple combat veterans from the Korean War to the GWOT. Jessie was also a lover of dogs, and would curl up with her large rescue dogs like they were 5 pound lap dogs.
To show my commitment and earn donations, I will be running the Pittsburgh Marathon on 6 May. For those that wish to support Jessie’s memory, or just join me in the comedy that will be training for a marathon please donate or share!
