Hi Friends and family, By now, most of you if not all of you are aware of the unfortunate destruction and loss brought by Hurricane and tropical storm Harvey to southeast Texas. I had the amazing opportunity to have called Houston, TX my home for the last three years and as many of you know, I relocated to California just days before this unfortunate event. My heart aches for Houstonians and the loss experienced due to this historic record breaking flooding. I know that if I was there, I would physically do everything in my power to help during this time of need and eventually with recovery. Its really frustrating and upsetting been far away but I found this way to help through Crowdrise and the American Red Cross. (Please note CrowdRise is the platform listed via the American Red Cross Website). I also know that if I was in need, you would be there to lend me a hand. So lets get together to make an impact. I'm asking for as small or as large donation as you like to contribute. Everything counts and goes towards making a difference. I'm forever grateful for Houstonians letting me feel at home during my stay. What a vibrant city! They reminded me that human resiliency and the human spirit moves mountains. A few days ago, I learned about an inspirational quote by Tulane University Historian Douglas Brinkley's from his book "The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast" It is in his dedication of this book he refer to Houstonians, "...and Houston, Texas, whose efficient openheartedness was breathtaking." when referring for their help to the many affected by Katrina. So this time, join me to help Houston. Please share with your networks.
