Dear family and friends,
On Monday, April 15, 2019, I will lace up my sneakers and run my first marathon on behalf of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. As a 20 year road race veteran, this will be my biggest challenge yet. I am both excited and nervous for the months ahead. Training and fundraising will be hard work and I am counting on your support.
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile, for New England cancer patients and their families by contributing financial support when it is needed most.
When Andy was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer in December 2012, we were devasted, especially with three young children to care for. We didn't know what the months and years ahead would bring. Looking back now, we were so fortunate that not only did Andy receive excellent care, but that we had the support of family, friends and Andy's company. For many cancer patients, cancer treatment can lead to time out of work and as a result the added stress of lost wages.
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation’s Financial Assistance Program provides grants up to $800 to cancer patients for rent/mortgage payments, utilitites, and other household expenses, allowing them to focus on treatment and recovery.
As of October 2018, there are 177 cancer patients in queue waiting to receive assistance from the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. Together we can ease their burden and just maybe by Marathon Monday, many will even be well on their way to recovery!
Thank you for your consideration!
