Engaging more girls in science and getting them into STEM careers is vital to our future in the US!
How many of you were inspired by a teacher or class when you were younger, or had one caring teacher tell you you could do anything or who always encouraged you to try? Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAFG) teachers are those special teachers inspiring the next generation of female engineers, scientists and IT professionals!
Since March 2014, Scientific Adventures for Girls has served over 900 girls in afterschool STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) classes and over 1000 girls and boys in STEM library classes in under served areas in Oakland and the East Bay. We are proud of these results, especially on the leanest of budgets.
If you make a donation to SAFG today for this "Day of Giving" you are helping a young 8-year old girl take an afterschool, hands-on class where she will learn it is okay to make mistakes, learn how to collaborate with a team and learn persaverance, determination and problem solving - all while falling in love with science - and she will have a caring teacher remind her in each class she can be anything she wants to be - especially a scientist! This is how dreams get started!
The Warriors Community Foundation has generously offered up two tickets to a Warriors game to the person who donates the most to Scientific Adventures for Girls during this "Day of Giving". Don't miss out on the tickets!
Thank you for any donation you can make today - we could not do this without you. You are all part of the solution to "Change the Face of Science" and bring more girls and women into STEM fields - Join the Movement!
