I am raising money for Amputee Blade Runners to provide four (4) running blades.
It's recess time. The kids line up and walk down the hall single file and quiet until those double doors to the playground open. Kids go sprinting and scatter in all directions running for the swings, the field, and kickball. You remember that feeling of pure joy while running. Some kids don't have the ability to sprint out the doors. They limp along awkwardly with a clunky prosthetic trying to catch up to their friends.
Amputee Blade Runner makes running possible for these kids. They provided running blades and they promise to follow the kids as they grow and provide new prosthetics as they need them, regardless of insurance or payment.
There is only one paid employee for this 501c3, everyone that crafts these amazing running blades volunteers their time and expertise.
As a Health & PE teacher as well as a fitness & wellness professional I love to see people moving and active. I also know that if kids can move and run freely they are more likely to be active as adults. Ironman Lousiville is my first full IM and I am blessed to be able to compete on two working legs and feet. Through this fundraising I want to provide at least 4 running blades (about $3,300 each). Everyone deserves the ability to run with abandon, sprinting forward in the moment and in life!
I hope you can help me reach my goal for Amputee Blade Runners!
