A Karma Rescue team of volunteers made an emergency flight to Austin, Texas this past weekend to help retrieve 30+ dogs and cats and safely flew back with the animals to Los Angeles. These were animals that were owner surrenders or had been at the shelters for some time prior to the hurricane.
The shelters in Texas need space for all the pets that were displaced or left behind by their families during the hurricane. This way, the animals have a safe place to stay and can be reunited with their humans.
Unfortunately, we had to leave four dogs behind (see pictures) because we did not have enough room in the plane to bring the remainder of the animals back. We consider these dogs part of the Karma family already and are committed to them.
They are currently in a boarding facility while we raise the money for transport to bring these babies to us.
In Austin, we witnessed first-hand how complete strangers joined forces to help support each other and the animals and filled our hearts with lots of hope. As humans, we are capable of the most beautiful, generous acts and Karma Rescue is so proud of all the volunteers and people that have stepped in to help during these hard times.
We still need your support to raise the money to transport these animals into our care! Please share with your friends! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ~ Your Karma family
