if there's one thing in this world that I love more than running with Barley, it's helping animal shelters. I am calling on you, my friends and family, to help me fundraise for the California Labradors Retrievers And More Rescue. If I raise $100 or more, Barley and I get to compete in a 5k for FREE.
My goal is $500.
Why 5x the goal?
Because I really, really believe in the mission of helping rescue dogs. I also love the philosophy of this particular rescue:
We might not be able to save them all, but together we will save all that we can!
Our friends we call dogs deserve a dignified existence regardless of age, health, breed or where they came from. Dogs are resilient creatures who, with love, security, proper nutrition and medical care can most often be reintegrated into a home to bond with a forever family.
YES. After spending nearly 2 years in the Denver Dumb Friends League Behavior Department, I know firsthand how hard it is to help these dogs. With the help of fosters, donors, staff, and adopters, we can give more dogs a chance - and help ease the suffering of dogs that aren't adoptable for medical or behavioral reasons.
Your donation doesn't just help me and Barley run together.
You're helping dogs like Bolton, a Foxhound that spent months at the shelter where I worked. Countless volunteers worked to exercise him. The staff spent hours working on training plans. Donors sent boxes of toys. And eventually, after waiting for far too long, Bolton went home.
And so did Rufus, Naomi, Ellen, and countless other individual animals that people work so hard for every day in shelters.
Even a dollar or two helps. Seriously.
We all thank you.
