We need your help and donations to provide Kansas City area students, schools, and teachers with the tools, resources and transportation required to take advantage of the Kansas City Urban Advantage Program (KCUA).
Dollars raised go to providing equipment and materials for students and teachers, providing transportation that would otherwise be impossible to afford, free lunches, and providing the necessary access to the educational experiences needed for a holistic STEAM education. Read more about KCUA below
The KC Urban Advantage initiative impacts students, educators, and families by providing ACCESS to hands-on learning at the Museum as well as at KCUA cultural partner locations. Additionally, the Museum at Prairiefire KCUA Education Team goes on site to partnering schools to aid educators in administering the program both in and out of the classroom. Families of KCUA students are also invited back to the Museum at Prairiefire, FREE of charge.
KCUA Students travel to the Museum at Prairiefire and other cultural institutions for hands-on half or full-day STEAM programs, with lunch and transportation provided. Teachers receive educator materials to link field trip and classroom learning, with students receiving an all-access pass to bring their families back to the Museum. Currently, The Museum at Prairiefire KC Urban Advantage Team serves eight schools from Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, Shawnee Mission, and Olathe school districts.
With your support, the KC Urban Advantage team will have the capacity to reach many more underserved students, schools and families in the KC metro region. Our goal is to reach any and all who are willing, but simply without the necessary resources.
