Help Keep Patients and Parents at the Forefront of Improving Care for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease! (Launched May 2018)
ImproveCareNow has created a collaborative community where clinicians, researchers, parents and patients are empowered to learn and continuously improve to bring about more reliable, proactive inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care for healthier children and youth. Since ImproveCareNow began in 2007, we have increased the number of kids in remission with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in our Network. We believe all children and youth with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis should be cared for at an ImproveCareNow center, where 81% of patients are in clinical remission (feeling well and fully active), 90% have satisfactory nutrition, 93% have satisfactory growth and 94% are not taking steroids. Parent and patient partners are vital to this mission and success. ImproveCareNow patients and parents are a source of ideas, innovation and energy in the network. They work with ImproveCareNow care center teams to design how to improve care. At a national level, they lead research and quality improvement initiatives that improve care for young patients with IBD NOW. Finally, they have been pivotal participants at our twice-yearly Community Conferences, where they teach and learn alongside clinicians, researchers, and health care administrators. Participation in the national conference helps prepare them to spearhead new improvement and research projects at both the local care center level as well as within the larger ImproveCareNow community.
We need to raise $30,000 by June 30 to ensure that at least 30 parents and patients can attend our Fall 2018 Community Conference.
This will enable more and more patients and parents to become active leaders of this growing community. ImproveCareNow has been recognized nationally as a leading example of what’s possible when parents and patients get involved to transform care. 100% of funds received will cover travel and registration costs for parents and patients who will have a direct impact in the improvement of IBD care at 109 care centers participating in ImproveCareNow. Please join us in continuing to build a healthcare community in which patients and parents are at the forefront.
ImproveCareNow will also accept checks and money orders. Please indicate mail donations are for "Community Conference Support" and mail to:
