Be the Good in Grief for children and teens who have recently lost a loved one. We need your help to send children and teens to Camp Good Grief!
The Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief's mission is to provide a safe environment for children, teens, and adults to explore and express their feelings related to the death of a loved one and learn to thrive in a world without that special person.
We created Camp Good Grief in 1999, the Mid-South's first bereavement camp for children ages 6-12. In 2001, we established Teen Camp Good Grief for teenagers, and to-date, we have had over 1,500 campers!
The goal of Camp Good Grief is to provide a supportive, healthy environment where children and adolescents can openly explore their grief, express feelings, share memories, and learn to thrive in a world without their loved one. Camp is specifically designed to provide time to work on grief through small grief groups, therapeutic art and music activities, and memorial services. We strive to provide this support to 40 children each summer and 25 teens each fall.
All funds raised during this CrowdRise campaign will be used to send children and teens to Camp Good Grief. The cost for each camper to attend is approximately $1,500 and we cover ALL costs for our campers. Can you help support these brave children and teens as they embark on a special journey to work on their grief?
Help us reach our goal and we have an opportunity to win an additional grant of $100,000, $50,000, $25,000, $15,000, or $10,000 which we will use to fund operations at our Centers for Good Grief. We need to meet our CrowdRise goal to continue in the grant process, and we would love you to help us! Additionally, there is $25,000 up for grabs that the Fan Favorite will be awarded - this will go to the campaign that raises the most money on CrowdRise by May 11!
