My mission for the past 15 years has been to support individuals and families dealing with autism spectrum disorders in a small corner of the United States. Prior to that I got a glimpse of what life is like for many individuals with special needs in some other parts of the world and dreamed of one day being able to help bring skilled individuals to help share their knowledge in some of those places so that all those with special needs have a chance at a better quality of life. When I found the Global Autism Project (https://www.globalautismproject.org/skillcorps/) I found my chance to do just that. I can be a part of sharing my education and experience with people who truly want to help support individuals in their community. For two weeks in India I can be a part of helping a local organization move towards sustainability as a place that offers services to help improve the quality of life of individuals with autism.
