Running 50 miles for a kolache at Weikel’s Bakery may seem crazy, but what’s really crazy is that others do it for something we never think about: clean water. In Burundi, Africa, people can’t simply turn on a faucet; they have to travel around 3-4 hours every day just to access this basic need. Limited access to clean water puts constant stress on families and has lead to the prevalence of waterborne illnesses. The Gazelle Foundation is working to change this difficult reality by building clean water systems in Burundi. Their work has provided clean water for 76,600 people so far and inspired us to help in any way we can. We invite you to support our run to make clean water more accessible:
We're going the distance so Burundians won’t have to.
