For decades, my family and I have volunteered and raised money for various organizations and charities. This year, one of the charities that I am supporting holds a special place in my heart; The Parkinson’s Research Consortium (PRC).
My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s several years ago and deals with the symptoms of this disease on a daily basis. A friend and former colleague has also been living with Parkinson’s for close to 10 years now. Although he has ridden in the “Lap The Gats” previously, he will not be participating this year. I have decided to ride on behalf of my friend, mother and for all those that suffer with the disease.
Parkinson’s is a devastating neurological disorder that affects 1 in 100 people; 40% before the age of 60. There is NO CURE.
