On Sunday morning, June 24th, I will be participating in the 28th Annual North Shore Cancer WALK . Like so many others, cancer is a very personal cause for me and one that is very dear to my heart. As many of you know, 10 years ago, I lost my dear mother-in-law and amazing friend, Mary Nazzaro, to stage IV colon cancer. After seeing how cancer has affected the lives of my family, friends and colleagues in so many ways, I wanted to make a difference and rally my support . So I will be walking in honor of Mary’s memory and for all others who are fighting and living with this disease. Funds raised from the WALK will be used for a new surgical robot that will bring advanced technology for prostate cancer surgery as well as benefit oncology services at North Shore Medical Center and the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center, such as clinical trials and wellness care. Up to $1 million in funds raised for the robot will be matched by a private donor, doubling the benefit of your contribution to North Shore patients and their families. I truly hope you will consider a donation to help make a difference in the fight against cancer and appreciate any support you’re able to provide.
