I ran Lost Lake trail race 20 years ago - a fundraiser to benefit cystic fibrosis. It was an exciting 16 mile trail, 5 up, 6 flat, 5 down, and I loved the beauty of the lake when I got there! I have backpacked it with my brother Nick and sister Talia, and separately with my mom Joann, and I have hiked it in a single day with husband John! I have run it with a friend and I ran with friends from work as part of a BP team. I walk/ran it 4 years ago as I wasn't able to really run it for personal reasons. Each time, I am touched by the mile markers that contain pictures of people who are living with cystic fibrosis and their names and ages. I'm thankful to be feeling fit enough to mostly run it this year, and with the support of my husband and two healthy and energetic children Louis and Amelia. I have much more life experience than when I ran it 20 years ago, and while this will most likely not be my fastest time, I feel extremely grateful for where I am in my life and the ability to approach this as a journey, one which I feel prepared to accomplish healthfully and enjoy!
