Who We are
A year ago 10 women had a wild hair to drive almost 2,000 miles to run the Klondike Road Relay. 2 Countries, 4 immigration checkpoints in a 31 foot RV, plus 109 miles on foot left us no choice but to get to know one another. We are all very different, but we found common ground in a love for running, a yearning for adventure, a constant pursuit to better ourselves, and a desire to do more for our community.
Since then we have added 7 new faces to our team for this race, and Double Shovel Cider Co. has kindly agreed to sponsor our adventure for a second time. This time we are stoked to run for a worthy cause and focus our efforts to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis.
Why Lost Lake?
Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system and makes it hard to breathe. A strenuous mountain race is the perfect place to give our all to benefit this charity. Our legs for the Klondike Relay ranged from 7 to 16 miles. While we have some Lost Lake veterans on our team, this is a new (and bigger) task for most of us. 16 miles EACH is a big undertaking but we are willing and thankful to take on the challenge.
How Can You Help?
You can support the fight against cystic fibrosis today with a donation! Fundraising for Lost Lake goes direclty to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Nearly every #cysticfibrosis drug available today was made possible because of @CF_Foundation support. Every dollar helps and if you aren't able to donate, a share is greatly appreciated too. For more information about the race please visit LostLakeRun.com.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is dedicated to attacking CF from every angle. Their focus is to support the development of new drugs to fight the disease, improve the quality of life for those with CF and -- ultimately -- to find a cure.
Thank you for your support and for always believing in us. We can do so much more together. #TheRackIsBack
