We are a small Maritime school located in the Port Richmond section in the City of Philadelphia. Our students come from predominantly low income. This means most only get fruits and or vegetables while in school through the free breakfast and lunch program. Two years ago, i was able to provide a 15 by 100 area for the students to grow vegetables and herbs as well as watermelons, blueberries and strawberries, The garden was a huge hit with the students and they enjoyed the harvest well into october. I have no funding available to do the garden and would appreciate any help. I go around to flea markets and yard sales asking people to donate supplies and I have a collection of very used tools. We have a Veteran's Memorial in our front garden that is in need of repair and the funds would also help with the cost of cement work to fix the wall and paint the railings. Thank you for all and any support.
