Arnie and I are rounding the bend to the finish line of the St. Margaret Foundation 5K Run/Walk on May 20th. You are free to accept or refuse to help our patients in need but you may not realize how far a little donation goes to save a life.
Imagine you have cancer and don't have anyone to ride you to chemotherapy or radiation. St. Margaret Foundation sends a free shuttle to make sure you receive your life-saving treatment. Imagine you need a hearing aid to hear your small children or a tub bench to take a shower but can't afford it if you pay your electric bill. St. Margaret Foundation fills in that gap. Imagine your clothes were destroyed in the ER while health professionals were saving your life and you don't have clothes to return home in or you have to go home to an empty kitchen cupboard. St. Margaret Foundation has a food pantry and clothes closet to fill in this gap.
Please help fill in the gaps with hope for patients who are struggling with the biggest challenges of their lives. They are already anxious and scared about their health. They don't need to worry about essential needs most of us take for granted.
Here is a recent story of how St. Margaret Foundation recently helped someone. "We had a gentleman who had a complicated cardiac history and no insurance. He needed to be on anticoagulation but also struggled to find employment in the greater Pittsburgh area and traveled frequently which made anticoagulation difficult. Through The Foundation he was able to get him Xarelto for several months until he got insurance. This allowed him to continue to work, support his family, and prevent him from having another stroke. He is recently a happily retired grandfather and living in the Pittsburgh area." ~ Dr. Adam Harker, Medical Resident III
Thank you and our warmest wishes for continued good health and success. You are the difference for these patients.
