April is Financial Literacy Awareness Month
Lack of financial resources is the reason for a woman to remain in or return to an abusive relationship.
Money and control go hand in hand. Most women in abusive relationships are denied access to money and prevented from making decisions about household finances.
Lack of financial management knowledge negatively impacts women and girls in many ways.
Our Financial Literacy program teaches women about budgeting, credit, debt, and savings so that they have the knowledge to make effective and informed decisions about their finances.
Our interactive Financial Awareness program for teenagers raises awareness about the importance of financial literacy, and provides information that helps put girls on the path of being able to make informed and positive decisions for their lives in the future.
YOU can make a difference by donating to the MCFJC Foundation during the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Flash Fundraiser.
