The Media Action Grassroots Network (MAG-Net) - the largest racial justice network for media rights, access, and representation in the United States - is holding its annual Membership Assembly at the Allied Media Conference in Detroit, MI on June 14, 2018.
At a time when our movements are directly under attack, dozens of social justice organizers will come together in Detroit to strategize and strengthen how we continue to protect our digital civil rights in the Trump era. The money we raise here will go directly into our Media Justice Action Fund - to help cover housing costs and other expenses so that more people of color and their allies can afford to attend this assembly and others like it throughout the year!
MAG-Net, a project of the Center for Media Justice, wins communication rights and power by amplifying the voices of impacted communities. Together, we have reduced prison phone rates, stopped media mergers, expanded broadband access for poor and rural communities, raised our voices against high-tech racial profiling, and won net neutrality to ensure our right to communicate online.
