Megan (Samples) Hoxworth was a beautiful woman who brightened everyone's day with her bright smile, her infectious laugh and her extreme generosity. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend. Even after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she took challenges on with a positive outlook and ferociousness. Last May, we celebrated her 35th birthday. Later that month, Megan's fight with cancer ended as she went to be in the presence of the Lord. The month of May will be hard for all those who love Megan, but it is also a good month to reflect on everything she's done to touch our lives.
One program that's helped Megan during her cancer fight is Look Good, Feel Better. They help women going through cancer treatments through workshops where they get cosmetic tips on dealing with their changing appearances caused by treatment side effects. Megan attended one of their workshops, and it really helped her self-esteem. We figure this month is a good opportunity to give back to this program and help other women going through cancer treatments.
For Megan's birthday, as we celebrate and remember her life, please consider donating to this worthy cause. This is just one of many ways we can think about her and make this the Month of Megan.
