In 2017, The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County (MHAMC) celebrates 67 years of providing advocacy and FREE services to families in Monmouth County. MHAMC is dedicated to promoting mental health and wellness and improving the care and treatment of persons affected by mental illness. Our mission is accomplished through MHAMC’s strength based innovative programs, education, advocacy, community partnerships and shaping public policy.MHAMC is currently taking the lead on prevention efforts in a number of areas:
- Statewide advocacy for Suicide Prevention across the life cycle
- Continued trauma focused counseling throughout Monmouth County to adults, children, and families
- Treating the whole person through the integration of mental health and general health care: routine health promotion activities; early identification and intervention; primary care screening, monitoring, and treatment; care coordination strategies; and other outreach programs.
