Team Metro Housing has had runners compete and raise funds through the Boston Marathon since 2006 thanks to the John Hancock Nonprofit Program. Runners have raised a combined $370,000 to prevent families and individuals throughout Greater Boston from becoming homeless and transition from homelessness to stability.
Please support the six runners of Team Metro Housing 2018 -cheer them on, and learn their stories. Imagine what it's like to spend an entire five months of New England winter, running in the cold wearing shoes that are still wet from yesterday's run, raising between $6,000- $10,000 so people who cannot afford to rent an apartment don't have to live outside - and still work every day. Each runner has their own story, and personal reason for accepting such an enormous challenge. You won't want to miss a moment.
About Metro Housing|Boston: Metro Housing|Boston recently changed our name from MBHP, but we did not change our dedication to connecting the residents of Greater Boston with safe, decent homes they can afford.
Metro Housing serves residents with low incomes in Greater Boston. We administer 9,600 housing subsidies, partner with 4,300 property owners, and provide emergency funding to 2,000+ households who are facing eviction, or transitioning out of homelessness.
We assist more than 20,000 people who call or walk in to our office, and provide onsite Fair Housing assistance and specialized case management to those who need it. Our educational workshops reach more than 1,500 tenants, homeowners and service partners annually.
To ensure we reach everyone who needs our help, we provide services in offsite co-locations with our partners throughout the region. .
