On December 4, 2008 a 90 year old man known only as John Doe was brought into the emergency room of Massachusetts General Hospital with multiple fractures and near fatal injuries from a hit and run car accident. The MGH Emergency Response Team did not know who this man was, only that he was dying.
Through their training, knowledge and experience the MGH emergency team saved his life. By the time his family arrived he was alive and stabilized. This man was my Grandfather.
Thank you to the doctors, to the nurses, to the staff of the emergency room for saving my grandfather’s life that day and allowing our family to have so many more years with him. He passed away on 2/13/19 at the age of 101.
