My name is Brian Ritucci, or as some know me Tooch or Tuce. I am running the Boston Marathon in 2019, and I will be raising money for the MassGeneral Hospital for Children Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic. This will be my first ever marathon and what better way than to run my hometown race and raise money for such a great cause.
Running has become a very important part of my life. It has become a deeply powerful and spiritual activity for me. Running has helped me through issues with anxiety and depression and to lose nearly 50 pounds several years ago. Completing the Boston Marathon will be a great accomplishment and fulfillment of one of my goals. I have completed two half marathons. However, I know the training and commitment necessary for the completion of this goal will be very difficult. Running Boston requires training in the winter, which in New England can be very unpleasant.
The difficulty and struggle of training for Boston is nothing compared to the struggle that kids face battling their cancer. The money that I am raising will go to the researchers and doctors trying to cure cancer, but it will also go to fund some wonderful programs, which help support the kids during their treatment, such as art & music therapy.
I am asking that you consider donating to this very worthy cause. Knowing the struggle that these kids are going through will help give me the strength and motivation necessary to complete my goal of running the Boston Marathon and the donations raised will help these kids greatly.
