This year on April 16th 2018 I will be running the 122nd Boston Marathon. On April 16th 2013, I sat at the finish line of the Marathon when the tragic bombings occured and changed the race forever. I returned to Boston in 2014 to run and have been determined ever since to cross that finish line again.
Every year as the marathon and training approaches, I am reminded of the events that unravelled after the bombings in 2013. The entire city was changed and the race became a symbol of hope. This year I am honored to return to Boston, to run for those that work to ensure our safety everyday.
This year I am running the 2018 Boston Marathon for the Military Friends Foundation. This foundation was founded to help establish community and support for families that sacrifice time together to serve our country. As we often take for granted the freedoms we have, lets take a moment to recognize the sacrifice so many families make each day. I am honored to run for the Military Friends Foundation and recognize the national guardsmen and all military members. Please consider donating to my cause and help me cross the finish line on April 16th!
